The Backwoods Lodge is located 27 miles south of Denali National Park in the scenic Alaska Mountain Range in the small community of Cantwell. We are located 4 hours north of Anchorage and 2 ½ hours south of Fairbanks. The lodge is at the intersection of the Parks Highway and the Denali Highway. The lodge is located in a quiet wooded area and the vast majority of our guests are here to enjoy the solitude away from the hustle and bustle just outside Denali National Park.

Join Northern Alaska Tour Company on a guided ground tour from Fairbanks to Denali National Park.  Along the way your guide will share information about life in the Tanana Valley and make a stop at the village of Nenana, an important transportation hub for interior Alaska with air, rail, river and road access.  Visit the Murie Science and Learning Center and take a gentle walk or short snowshoe trek in the park. Optional return by Alaska Railroad available on Saturday departures.

Holy Mary of Guadalupe Catholic Church is the local parish serving the communities of Healy, Ferry and Denali.
Winter Mass (Sept - May): Sunday 10am in Healy at 530 Carbon Way.
Summer Mass (Memorial Day - Labor Day): (Memorial Day - Labor Day). Sunday 11:00am near Denali National Park & Preserve at Holland America Denali Lodge. Location of this service is the Gold Nugget dinner theater building. You can use the property shuttle and be dropped off for a short walk. 
Because we are located within a Missionary Diocese (2500sqm) area, the priests are often traveling and presiding at multiple parishes which means that some Sundays there will be a communion service lead by a deaconinstead of a priest.

Reconciliation Sacrament of Confession can be scheduled by appointment with Fr. Patrick Bergquist. Please call the rectory. 

We are located at 530 Carbon Roadin Healy. From the George Parks Highway turn east onto Healy Spur Road, travel approm. 1/2 mile and make a left on School Road, just past the Tri-Valley Community Center. bear right at the wye in the road. Travel approx. 1.2 mile and you will see the sign for Holy Mary of Guadalupe Catholic Church on the left. All are welcome!


Training sled dogs is a year-round affair for four-time Iditarod champion Jeff King. He is is recognized as the “Winningest Musher in the World.” His victories include not only the 1,049 mile Iditarod Sled Dog Race in 1993, 1996, 1998, and 2006, but also over two dozen first place finishes in races all across Alaska. Each summer we share the world’s finest sled dogs and puppies with visitors world wide at our location in Denali Park, Alaska.

At Moon Dog Kennel, we offer guests an immersive summer experience. On our hour long guided tundra walk, guests will be accompanied by and have the opportunity to interact with free running, friendly Alaskan huskies. Guests will learn about life in Denali, local flora and fauna, park history and the connection that humans, canines and the land all share. In the winter months we offer a multi-night excursion where guests run their own team to a remote cabin on the park boundary.

Located 14 miles north of the visitor center of Denali National Park, this newly built two bedrooms, one bath cottage accommodates four people comfortably. Each bedroom has queen size bed with a memory foam mattress and thermal black-out curtains for those short summer nights. The cottage is equipped with a full size stacked washer and dryer and full kitchen.

Our spacious covered 26ft by 8ft wide deck is equipped with a gas barbeque grill and dining table. The hand-railed staircase and deck allows you watch the awe inspiring sunrises and sunsets. From September to March the deck is an excellent viewing area to watch and photograph the Northern Lights.

We have everything you need, to experience the comforts of home while experiencing the adventure of a lifetime.
